Welcome to LinkBiz ("we", "our", "us", "platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use our platform at linkbiz.cloud and its associated mobile/PWA application.
By registering or using LinkBiz, you confirm that you have read, understood, and consent to this Privacy Policy in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and IT (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules, 2011.
1. Information We Collect
a) Personal information (provided by you):
- Full name, email address, mobile number during registration
- Password (stored in encrypted/hashed form — never readable)
- Profile photo (optional)
- Business/property/service information when you create a listing
- Address, pincode, city, state of your listing
- RERA number (if applicable for property listings)
b) Information collected automatically:
- Search queries and keywords you search on the platform
- Pages visited, listings viewed, clicks and interactions
- Device type, browser, operating system, IP address
- GPS/location coordinates when you pin your listing on the map
- Push notification subscription token (if you enable PWA notifications)
c) Transaction information:
- Razorpay order IDs and payment status for plan subscriptions
- Credit purchase history and credit balance
- Booking details (date, time, number of persons, notes)
d) Communication data:
- Messages sent via in-app chat (stored on our servers)
- Reviews and ratings you submit
- Lead/inquiry forms submitted (name, phone, email, message)
- Contact form messages to our support team
2. Purpose of Data Collection
We collect data only for the following specific purposes:
- Creating and managing your account
- Displaying your listing to relevant customers
- Sending booking confirmations, lead notifications, and OTP
- Processing payments and subscription plans via Razorpay
- Enabling in-app chat between users and listing owners
- Personalising search results based on your city and preferences
- Preventing fraud, spam, and fake reviews
- Complying with legal requirements
- Improving platform features and fixing bugs
We do not use your data for automated decision-making, profiling for ads, or selling to third parties.
3. User Consent (DPDPA 2023)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, we collect your data only after obtaining your free, specific, informed, and unconditional consent via the checkbox on the registration page.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us at support@linkbiz.in. Withdrawal of consent will result in deletion of your account and associated data within 30 days.
4. Lead Data Sharing with Listing Owners
Important: When you submit an inquiry, lead, or booking on any listing, your contact details (name, phone number, email) are shared with the listing owner. By submitting a lead form, you explicitly consent to this sharing.
Business owners can reveal your contact details using credits. This is the core mechanism of our lead-generation service and is disclosed to you at the time of form submission.
5. Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Razorpay Pvt. Ltd. — For payment processing. Razorpay stores your payment information under PCI-DSS compliance. We never store your card details directly. Razorpay Privacy Policy →
- Google LLC — If you register/login via Google OAuth, your Google profile name and email are shared. Google Privacy Policy →
- SMS/OTP providers — Your phone number is shared with our SMS gateway to deliver OTP for login verification.
- Legal authorities — When required by a court order, government directive, or applicable law.
6. Data Retention
- Search logs: Automatically deleted after 90 days
- Active accounts: Data retained as long as your account is active
- Deleted accounts: All personal data purged within 30 days of account deletion request
- Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations
- Chat messages: Retained for 12 months from last activity; deleted upon account deletion
- Leads and bookings: Retained for 2 years for dispute resolution purposes
7. Your Rights (DPDPA 2023 — Chapter III)
As a data principal under DPDPA 2023, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request a summary of personal data we hold about you
- Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Right to Grievance Redressal: Raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see Section 14)
- Right to Nominate: Nominate a person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw previously given consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at support@linkbiz.in. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Data Security
- All data transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption)
- Passwords stored using bcrypt hashing — never in plain text
- Payment processing via Razorpay (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified)
- Admin panel protected with role-based access control
- Database access restricted to authorised personnel only
- Regular security reviews and code audits
Despite best efforts, no internet transmission is 100% secure. In case of a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours as required by DPDPA 2023.
9. Chat Message Privacy
In-app chat messages between users and listing owners are stored on our servers. While we respect your privacy:
- Messages may be accessed by our team for abuse investigation, fraud prevention, or legal compliance
- Do not share sensitive financial information (bank details, OTPs) via in-app chat
- Messages are encrypted in transit and stored securely at rest
- Chat history is deleted 12 months after account deletion
10. Location Data
Location data (latitude, longitude, address) is collected for:
- Pinpointing your listing on the map for customers
- Enabling "near me" search functionality
- Calculating distance between user and listing
We do not track your real-time device location. Location is only collected when you manually pin your listing on the map during listing creation.
11. Cookies and Search Tracking
- Session cookies: Keep you logged in to your account
- Preference cookies: Remember your selected city and filters
- Search logs: Your search queries are stored for 90 days to improve search relevance and detect spam
- PWA push notifications: Your browser push token is stored to send booking and lead notifications (only if you opt in)
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some platform features may not function correctly without cookies.
12. Children's Privacy
LinkBiz is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age. If we discover that a user under 18 has registered, we will immediately delete their account and all associated data.
If you believe a minor has registered on our platform, please notify us at support@linkbiz.in immediately.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology, or our services. When we make material changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Registered users will be notified via email at least 7 days before changes take effect
- Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
14. Grievance Officer
As required under Rule 5(9) of the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures) Rules, 2011 and the DPDPA 2023, we have designated a Grievance Officer to address complaints related to your personal data.
